Museum EXP announces the first ever Traveling Exhibition Awards

We’re celebrating the inaugural TREX Traveling Exhibits Forum!

If you haven’t gathered yet, we have a soft spot in our hearts for traveling exhibitions. John and Cynthia met while working together on traveling exhibits early in their careers—and those experiences in this unique field have had a lasting impact on us. We recently hosted nearly 200 of our museum friends at the Traveling Exhibits Forum during the ASTC 2023 Annual Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. While this gathering has taken place semi-annually for more than two decades, this was the first forum under Museum EXP’s leadership. We’re delighted to be able to continue the tradition of these incredibly fun and informative gatherings that were started by our colleague and friend, Mac West, of Informal Learning Experiences.

We had a blast catching up with friends, learning about new exhibitions, and celebrating achievements in traveling exhibitions. The sold-out event had record attendance—and we plan to do it all again at our next museum conference in Baltimore!

Congratulations to the TREX Traveling Exhibition Award Winners

We’re excited to launch a new tradition to recognize excellence in the field of traveling exhibitions. Aptly so, we inducted our inaugural class of award winners in the Hall of Honor at the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Museum. These awards were peer nominated and peer selected—and we couldn’t be more thrilled for the winners and nominees.
